Let us tell you that the foundation of the increase was laid in the 34th meeting of SCVOA which was organized under the chairmanship of Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, many issues related to the Eighth Pay Commission have been discussed in this meeting.
Employees raised a big issue of fixed medical allowance.
For your information, we want to tell you that in this meeting, a very big issue has been raised by the employees union before the government, this also includes the issue of fixed medical allowance of pensioners. It has been said by them that there is a continuous increase in the health care post and the amount received in the form of allowance is very less and not sufficient at all.
After this, a proposal to increase the medical allowance has been made in the recommendation of the 8th Pay Commission. It has been said in the meeting that the medical allowance will be increased from ₹ 1000 to ₹ 3000 per month.
What is the fixed medical allowance given to the employees?
The General Secretary of the Joint Employees Council, whose name is RK Verma, has increased the fixed medical allowance given to the employees. This is a monthly allowance which is provided to pension patients.
This amount is very important for all those retired employees who do not have the facility of treatment due to being in a remote area. At present, ₹1000 is being given as allowance every month, which was last changed in 2014, but now it is going to increase.
Recommendation of fixed medical allowance by the Standing Committee of Parliament
I would like to inform you that in the meeting of SCOVA, many facilities related to pensioners were discussed and during this, the Standing Committee of Parliament has also recommended fixed medical allowance.
The three-fold increase that has been recommended has also been approved by the Finance Department. This can be included during the 8th Pay Commission, after which the employees will get full benefit.
