EPF Interest Deposit Date 2025: How to check interest credit in EPF passbook?

Good news for EPFO members!

If you’ve been waiting for your annual EPF interest, there’s good news. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has begun crediting interest to PF accounts for the financial year 2024–25 — and many account holders have already started seeing an increase in their balances.

Let’s walk through what this means, how to check your EPF balance, and what to do if the interest hasn’t appeared in your account yet.

EPF Interest Deposit Date 2025

The Indian government recently approved an interest rate of 8.25% on Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) deposits for 2024–25. Following this approval, EPFO has started distributing this interest dated 27 June 2025 to over 7 crore active account holders across the country.

Although EPFO hasn’t issued formal SMS alerts or circulars yet, many users have reported receiving the credited amount in their PF accounts.

How to Check interest credit in EPF passbook?

You don’t need to wait for an SMS to know if your EPF balance has increased. Here’s how you can check it yourself:

Step-by-Step Guide to View Your EPF Passbook 2025

  1. Visit the official EPF passbook site: https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in
  2. Log in using your UAN (Universal Account Number), password, and captcha code.
  3. Enter OTP received on your registered mobile number linked to your PF account.
  4. Once logged in, you’ll see all your linked Member IDs.
  5. Click on the Member ID related to your current job to view the passbook.
  6. Look for the interest column to see the latest credited amount.

The passbook clearly shows employer and employee contributions along with the interest entries for each year. There’s even a visual summary on the site for easier understanding.

What If Interest Hasn’t Appeared Yet?

If your passbook doesn’t show the new interest, don’t worry — here are a few things to know:

  • Processing may still be ongoing. EPFO usually credits interest in phases. Try checking again after a few days.
  • Merged or closed accounts might not reflect interest. If an old Member ID shows a zero balance, the amount may have been withdrawn or merged.
  • Slow servers can affect loading. Login delays are common during high-traffic periods.
  • Contact EPFO if interest doesn’t reflect even after a week. You can raise a query through:
    • The EPFO grievance portal
    • Your nearest EPFO regional office
