What has changed under the new rules?
An important change is being made in the process of applying for PAN card from 1 July 2025, if you want to get a new PAN card then it is necessary to have an Aadhaar card with you. This rule will be applicable to all candidates from 1 January 2025.

- To ensure the authenticity of PAN card
- To solve the problem of duplicate and fake PAN cards
- to bring the tax into the system
- To enhance security through biometric verification

That by 31 December 2025, it is necessary for all those people who already have a PAN card to link their PAN card with Aadhaar.

- There will be interruption in the facility related to passbook
- There will be problems in getting credit card and loan facility

- Trouble paying taxes
- A fine of up to ₹10,000 will also be imposed in case of duplicate PAN card.
Process for PAN-Aadhaar online link
- You have to visit the official website https://www.incometax.gov.in/.
- After which you have to click on Link Aadhar option.
- The 10 digit PAN number has to be filled correctly in the new page.
- 12 digit Aadhaar number has to be filled correctly.
- You have to confirm the name registered in Aadhaar by entering the registered mobile number.
- After clicking on the OTP sending button, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Enter it and proceed as ‘I agree to validate my Aadhaar details with UIDAI’.
- Have to submit.
- You will receive an SMS confirming the linking.
