July 1 Rule Update: Cylinder Gets Cheaper, Aadhaar Now Must for PAN – See What Else Changed

July 1 Rule Update

Money feels tight these days, doesn’t it? Between rising costs and confusing rule changes, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But what if you could stay ahead of the game? Starting July 1, 2025, several big financial updates kicked in—some good, some not-so-great. Let’s break them down in plain terms so you know exactly what’s changing for your wallet.

LPG Cylinders Got Cheaper (But Only for Businesses)

Finally, some relief—just not for everyone. Commercial LPG cylinder prices dropped by ₹58.50, helping hotels, restaurants, and small businesses breathe easier. Here’s the new pricing in key cities:

  • Delhi: ₹1,665 (was ₹1,723.50)
  • Mumbai: ₹1,616 (was ₹1,674.50)
  • Kolkata & Chennai: Reduced by ₹57–57.50

Bad news? No change in domestic cylinder prices. If you’re cooking at home, you’re still paying the same (₹853 in Delhi, ₹890.50 in Lucknow, etc.).

Aadhaar Now Mandatory for PAN Cards

No more skipping the Aadhaar-PAN link! If you’re applying for a new PAN card, you must provide your Aadhaar number. The government’s pushing for tighter compliance, so dig out that Aadhaar card before you apply.

Extra Time to File Your Taxes

Stressed about ITR deadlines? The CBDT extended the due date to September 15, 2025 (originally July 31). More time = fewer rushed mistakes. Phew!

SBI Credit Card Rules Tightened

  • Starting July 15, SBI’s minimum payment (MAD) calculation gets stricter:
  • Now includes GST, EMIs, finance charges, + 2% of your balance.
  • Air accident insurance (up to ₹1 crore) is gone on Elite, Pulse, and Prime cards.

HDFC Credit Card Fees Just Went Up

  • Watch out for these new charges:
  • 1% fee on gaming/wallet transactions over ₹10,000/month.
  • Utility bill payments above ₹50,000 (consumer cards) or ₹75,000 (business cards) now cost extra.
  • Max charge: ₹4,999 for rent/fuel/education payments via third-party apps.

Axis Bank ATM Fees Increased

After your free transactions, Axis now charges ₹23 per withdrawal (up from ₹21). Priority/Burgundy customers aren’t spared either.
